What’s the meaning of Merdeka (Independence)?
When the racist slurs, colour discriminations and religion suppressions are still rampant in Malaysia, I couldn’t see the point to celebrate the 51st Merdeka in this coming week.
The parade of people wearing the multi-racial costumes, dancing multi-cultural performances, singing multi-languages songs is just a mere ‘show’ to the foreigners that we are harmonious and united.
From the bottom of the heart
Are we united?
When the education system, economy policies and government regulations are still race-and-religion-orientated, please don’t ever proudly pronounce that we all are MALAYSIANS because not all Malaysians are being respected inasmuch as the minorities are always segregated and marginalized in all aspects of lives!
Education! WHY are there different education systems and examinations for different races?
Economy! WHY are the government tenders only reserved to a certain group of races?
Religion! WHY are other religions bound to succumb to one religion?
WHY? WHY? WHY?
Why do we still need to live under such a polarized society when it’s already 51st Merdeka?

is not an independent Merdeka
if we are yet to free from racial segregation and religious discrimination!!!
